Der Ökobräu im Altmühltal

Wo Dinkel und Emmer zu Bier werden

"Eco does not taste good" one of the first organic breweries in Germany had to struggle with this prejudice. Piquantly enough, it was only after the bottles had written on them what had been inside them for years: beer from organically grown hops and cereals, lovingly produced by hand to the highest quality.

It's nice that the prejudices have passed and that the beer specialities of the Riedenburger brewery are now appreciated and loved in the picturesque Altmühltal.

The Kriegers have been pioneers in the art of brewing for generations. Grandfather Krieger was one of the first to brew wheat beer in Bavaria, which is now an integral part of Bavaria. Four generations later, Michael Krieger hopes that his beer specialities made from old grain varieties such as emmer, spelt and einkorn will spread as well and that the family business will continue to exist.

This would be good for the environment and people, because the unfiltered beer from the protein-rich organically cultivated cereals not only tastes good, but is also very healthy.
