Watson

Activist. Conservationist. Rebel.
2019 | 100 min | Recommended min. age: 10 y

As a young man, environmental activist Paul Watson had to watch at close range as a live whale was killed before his eyes. An event that deeply shook him and provoked his anger. Since then, Watson has devoted himself passionately and radically to the marine wildlife.
Formerly a Greenpeace co-founder and activist, Watson is now a media-savvy captain and pirate for Sea Shepherd, an organization that uses controversial and effective methods to force whalers and fish poachers to retreat.
But “Watson” not only tells the exciting life story of one of the most important faces of the global conservation movement. The film also takes us into the world of the oceans and their endangered biodiversity thanks to its large video archive, personal anecdotes and beguilingly beautiful underwater shots. A world worth fighting for.
