For 15 years, we have been organizing the Filme für die Erde Festival. It takes place every year simultaneously in 9 cities in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, where we screen a selection of the best environmental documentary films.

In addition to our festival, we bring the films to a broad audience at our pop-up cinema, through our film library, at digital school events and via our streaming platform.

Each year, we reach over 100,000 people – either directly at the venues or online.

Submit film

Submit your film through Filmfreeway or contact us directly via E-Mail.

Please note that fees are non-refundable. A submission does not guarantee entry into the film library or selection for our events.

With your submission, you give us the right to promote your films with clips (shorter than 10s) from the trailers, teasers, artwork and film stills you provide.

Our selection process

Each year, we select the best 15-20 films for our activities such as our festival, pop-up cinema, digital school events, etc. Films for the Earth is a quality label. Our selection is based on high quality criteria in terms of content as well as film technology. Compared to other festivals, we screen fewer films at our festival, which allows us to only show the best ones.

We are looking for moving films that motivate people to take action, that show prospects and initiate change. Furthermore, we appreciate films treating new topics or presenting them from different perspectives.

Your advantages

• Inclusion in our trilingual film library
• Increased visibility to the target audience
• Better findability in the Google index
• Promotion of your film within our events and activities.
