Experimental filmmaker Godfrey Reggio explores the daily lives of people living and working in poor countries where modern life is difficult. The film travels around the world, from a huge gold mine in Brazil to small villages in Africa to a Nepalese temple, accompanied by a frenetic score by minimalist composer Philip Glass.
