The Forum

In times of unfettered populism and growing mistrust towards the elite, we follow Klaus Schwab, the 81-year-old founder of the controversial World Economic Forum, over the course of one year. We accompany him as he works to carry out his mission: to improve the state of the world.

When Klaus Schwab writes a letter to climate activist Greta Thunberg after her appearance at the WEF 2019, a dialogue begins between the generations that gives hope.

Can Klaus Schwab‘s vision bear fruit and can the WEF contribute to solving global problems? Or is it just another part of the problem and does it ultimately serve the interests of the global elite alone?

The film "The Forum" succeeds in showing connections and conveying astonishing insights of undisputed relevance.

It is less fodder for the soul than for the intellect. Its strength lies in its journalistic ethos and the depth of its research, allowing contrasting views without missing a clear and well-founded line of argumentation.

The film is therefore not designed to provoke great emotions in the viewer and to move her directly to action. However, by taking a broad perspective, it raises awareness of the need for collective action and global cooperation.

From a craft point of view, "The Forum" is good. The structure is clear, the pictures are appropriate, and the editing, camera work and film music are convincing.
