Extinction Rebellion

Disobeying with love and rage

Extinction Rebellion was born in October 2018 in the United Kingdom. Soon, this global movement of civil disobedience in the fight against ecological collapse and global warming saw the emergence of local groups in the 4 corners of the globe. There are now 500 of them in more than 70 countries.

In Fribourg, Switzerland, as elsewhere, the rebellion is being organized. We have followed the evolution of the group and the activists who make it up, to understand the motivations that drive them to practice non-violent civil disobedience, but also their doubts and hopes.

The film consists of interviews with activists, why they are present at demonstrations and how they feel after street blockades or creative actions. It goes a bit deeper into non-violent civil resistance and how important it is as a means of exerting pressure on politics and for changing the law.
